Our gallery carries a selection of fine art from award-winning artists including Dutch sculptor Loet Vanderveen.
Loet Vanderveen was a local Big Sur artist for nearly 60 years, during which he designed iconic bronze animal sculptures from a mountain-top house and studio 1,600 feet above the Pacific Ocean. Growing up in Rotterdam, Holland, he developed a love for wild animals when he lived across the street from a local zoo.
Enhanced by a rich palette of subtle patinas, Vanderveen’s designs are distinguished by collectors worldwide. Coast Gallery was the first gallery to represent his work dating back to 1958.
Vanderveen passed away in 2015, but new production of his work remains available to collectors exclusively through authorized galleries working with Loet Vanderveen Legacy Editions. Of which, COAST Big Sur is one, working to produce Vanderveen sculptures to his exacting standards.
We have more than 20 pieces of his work on display at any given time. Scroll below to see a few examples of what is available for purchase. Please call (831-667-2301) or email the Gallery Manager, Sabrina Davis (firstname.lastname@example.org), for availability and inquiries.
David Blakemore is a London-born contemporary artist based in the beautiful Cotswolds region of the Oxfordshire. His oil paintings have a unique style and quality with an undercurrent of surrealism.
Blakemore studied classical techniques for three years at the renowned Lavender Hill atelier in South London under the tutelage of American artist Scott Polschmidt. He received commissions during this time which encouraged him to follow his passion into a new career.
